Job Description:

We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Crane Operator to join our team in Malta. As a Crane Operator, you will be responsible for operating and controlling various types of cranes to lift, move, and position heavy objects or materials. Your expertise in crane operations, adherence to safety protocols, and ability to work with precision and efficiency will contribute to the success and safety of our projects.

Responsibilities:

• Operate and control cranes to lift, move, and position heavy objects or materials according to work orders, safety guidelines, and instructions.
• Inspect cranes and lifting equipment prior to each shift to ensure they are in proper working condition.
• Perform routine maintenance checks and report any malfunctions or issues to the appropriate personnel.
• Interpret and follow signals from riggers or spotters to ensure safe and accurate crane movements.
• Calculate and determine load capacities, lifting capacities, and safe working load limits for each crane operation.
• Secure loads properly using rigging equipment, such as slings, chains, or hooks, and verify their stability and balance.
• Collaborate with ground personnel to ensure the safe positioning of loads and avoid obstructions or hazards.
• Maintain clear and effective communication with team members, supervisors, and other personnel involved in the lifting operation.
• Adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines to prevent accidents, injuries, and damage to property or equipment.
• Follow project plans and specifications to meet the requirements of each lifting task.
• Record and maintain accurate documentation of daily activities, including lift logs, maintenance reports, and inspection records.
• Stay updated on industry regulations, best practices, and advancements in crane operations.
• Assist in training and mentoring new crane operators or apprentices, if required.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Crane Operator, preferably in a construction or industrial setting.
• Valid crane operator certification/license is required.
• Strong knowledge of crane operations, rigging techniques, and lifting procedures.
• Familiarity with different types of cranes, including mobile cranes, tower cranes, or overhead cranes.
• Understanding of load charts, load calculations, and safe working load limits.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination and depth perception.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions and handle physically demanding tasks.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Flexibility to work in shifts and overtime as needed.
• Good command of English; knowledge of other languages is an advantage.
