Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to join our team in Malta. As a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing heavy vehicles, such as trucks, buses, and construction equipment. Your expertise in diagnosing and fixing mechanical issues will ensure the safe and efficient operation of our fleet.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on heavy vehicles to ensure proper functioning and identify any defects or potential issues.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems using diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Replace or repair faulty components, including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, and electrical systems.
• Conduct thorough testing and troubleshooting to identify and resolve complex technical problems.
• Follow maintenance schedules and procedures to ensure compliance with safety regulations and manufacturer guidelines.
• Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repairs performed, including parts used and hours worked.
• Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively with supervisors and drivers to address concerns and provide updates on maintenance tasks.
• Stay updated with advancements in heavy vehicle technology, attend training programs, and acquire necessary certifications to enhance skills and knowledge.
• Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Assist in managing inventory of spare parts and tools.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic or in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of heavy vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, and electrical systems.
• Proficient in diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing time effectively to meet deadlines.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical information to colleagues and drivers.
• Solid understanding of safety protocols and regulations related to heavy vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Willingness to work in various locations and adapt to different working environments.
