Job Description:

We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our team in Malta. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing diesel engines and vehicles to ensure optimal performance and reliability. Your expertise in diesel engine systems, strong technical knowledge, and attention to detail will contribute to the efficiency and safety of our fleet.

Responsibilities:

• Inspect diesel engines, vehicles, and equipment to identify mechanical issues and perform diagnostic tests.
• Diagnose malfunctions and perform repairs on diesel engines, including engine components, fuel systems, exhaust systems, cooling systems, electrical systems, and drivetrains.
• Conduct routine maintenance, such as oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks, to ensure proper functioning of diesel engines and vehicles.
• Perform tune-ups and preventative maintenance to extend the lifespan of diesel engines.
• Utilize specialized tools and equipment to perform repairs and adjustments on diesel engines and components.
• Replace or repair faulty parts, such as injectors, pumps, valves, gaskets, and bearings.
• Follow repair manuals, technical specifications, and standard operating procedures to ensure accurate and efficient repairs.
• Test repaired diesel engines and vehicles to verify proper functioning and performance.
• Document all repairs, maintenance activities, and parts used in detailed service reports.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring the proper storage and maintenance of tools and equipment.
• Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries.
• Keep up-to-date with advancements in diesel engine technology and industry standards.
• Collaborate effectively with other mechanics and team members to share knowledge and support efficient workflow.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic, preferably in a similar role.
• Strong technical knowledge of diesel engines and related systems.
• Familiarity with diagnostic tools and equipment used in diesel engine repair.
• Proficiency in interpreting repair manuals, technical drawings, and schematics.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines.
• Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy equipment and parts.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Flexibility to work in shifts and overtime as needed.
• Good command of English; knowledge of other languages is an advantage.
