Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Bus Mechanic to join our team in Malta. As a Heavy Bus Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing heavy buses, ensuring their safe and efficient operation. Your expertise in diagnosing and fixing mechanical issues will contribute to the reliability and longevity of our fleet.

Responsibilities:

• Perform regular maintenance and inspections on heavy buses to ensure proper functioning and identify any defects or potential issues.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems using diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Repair or replace faulty components, including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, and electrical systems.
• Conduct thorough testing and troubleshooting to identify and resolve complex technical problems.
• Follow maintenance schedules and procedures to ensure compliance with safety regulations and manufacturer guidelines.
• Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repairs performed, including parts used and hours worked.
• Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively with supervisors and drivers to address concerns and provide updates on maintenance tasks.
• Stay updated with advancements in bus technology, attend training programs, and acquire necessary certifications to enhance skills and knowledge.
• Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Assist in managing inventory of spare parts and tools.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Heavy Bus Mechanic or in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of heavy bus systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, and electrical systems.
• Proficient in diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing time effectively to meet deadlines.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical information to colleagues and drivers.
• Solid understanding of safety protocols and regulations related to heavy bus maintenance and repair.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Willingness to work in various locations and adapt to different working environments.
