Job Description:

We are currently seeking experienced and responsible Heavy Duty Drivers to join our team in Malta. As a Heavy Duty Driver, you will be responsible for operating and driving heavy-duty vehicles, such as trucks and trailers, to transport goods and materials safely and efficiently. Your excellent driving skills, knowledge of transportation regulations, and commitment to safety will contribute to the successful delivery of goods and the satisfaction of our customers.

Responsibilities:

• Safely operate and drive heavy-duty vehicles, such as trucks and trailers, to transport goods and materials.
• Load and unload cargo onto the vehicle, ensuring proper weight distribution and securing the load.
• Plan and organize delivery routes to ensure timely and efficient transportation.
• Follow traffic laws, transportation regulations, and company policies while driving.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and report any issues or damages to the supervisor.
• Monitor and maintain the cleanliness and maintenance of the vehicle.
• Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and maintain a safe working environment.
• Collaborate effectively with the logistics team and communicate any issues or concerns regarding deliveries.
• Ensure accurate completion of delivery paperwork, including logbooks, delivery notes, and invoices.
• Provide exceptional customer service by interacting with customers in a professional and courteous manner.
• Handle customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints promptly and appropriately.
• Assist with the loading and unloading of goods as needed.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures, including those related to safety, security, and confidentiality.

Requirements:

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Previous experience as a Heavy Duty Driver or in a similar role is required.
• Excellent driving skills and ability to operate heavy-duty vehicles safely.
• Knowledge of transportation regulations and compliance standards.
• Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labor, including loading and unloading.
• Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team.
• Flexibility to work in shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.
• Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and electronic logbooks.
• Good command of English; knowledge of other languages is an advantage.
